Russian Virtual Classroom Distance Learning

Distance learning in LCTI’s virtual classroom provides an option for those who cannot attend our full-time program in Spokane. If you’re already working abroad or would like to study with us from the comfort of your home, the Virtual Classroom is the way to go. We use cutting edge video conferencing, not the standard recorded classes so common these days.

This means quality, face-to-face interaction and practice with an experienced instructor. Basic Russian Level I (and soon Chinese) begins in August each year, with Level II and Intermediate I following in January. Programs include both Conversation and Grammar (“Structure of Russian”) sections. Instructors use white board, video and other interactive features with students. The full year promotes native-like accuracy and fluency.

*Russian Level I: A beginning-level introduction to becoming conversant in Russian that includes grammar and conversation. Students learn how to communicate accurately, and grow in mastering the structure and phonetics of modern spoken Russian. Classes meet three times each week.

*Russian Level II/Intermediate level): The level II course enables students to develop intermediate-level conversation skills in Russian. Students begin to master the structure, vocabulary and pragmatic use of modern Russian, with a number of conversational, intermediate-level grammar, and biblical topics covered.

Course Dates

Fall, 2023 Russian Level I: Sept. 5 – Nov. 23 (12 weeks). *Meeting Times include either 2 or 3 blocks of study per week: Usually T/Th and/or Wednesdays.

Spring, 2024 Russian Level II: Jan. 15 – April 11, 2024 (12 weeks). *Russian Level II includes the same blocks of study on T/Th and/or Wednesdays.

*Note: Schedules can be modified according to student needs.

Schedule (both Fall and Spring Semesters)

Conversational Russian

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30 – 2:00 pm Pacific Standard Time. Days and times can be modified when to meet student and instructor needs, when necessary.

Structure of Russian (Grammar)

Wednesdays, 3:30 – 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time: Days and times can be modified to meet student and instructor needs, when necessary.

*Students at a slightly higher level of proficiency may join a course at a point commensurate with abilities.

Tuition

12-Week Program Tuition (Fall or Spring): $990.00 ($330.00 per month) .
A $50.00 course deposit is required with application for the online program. The deposit is applied toward tuition. Students may opt to pay their tuition on a monthly basis.
